Sanitary protection zone of the lake of Esch/Sûre

zones-de-protection

This isolated farm is located in the sanitary protection zone of the Esch-sur-Sûre dam. It is established around the dam, in accordance with the law of 24 June 1953. This sanitary protection zone comprises two parts delimited on the map. All leisure activities are prohibited in protection zone 1, which extends from the dam wall at Esch-sur-Sûre to Lultzhausen. In contrast, water sports are permitted in protection zone 2, as long as no motor is used.

In these two zones camping is prohibited (except for the Misère Farm with ministerial authorization).

Violations of the provisions of this law will be punished by imprisonment or a fine. We therefore ask you to organise scouting activities (hike) outside these two protection zones.

This dam is the national drinking water reserve of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. That is why the waste water from the center (farm and camp) flows into a biological purification station equipped with plants that ensure the purification of the waste water. This treatment plant is located on the site itself and is surrounded by a fence. It is strictly forbidden to enter.

Campers and tenants of the farm are obliged to pour all waste water into the drainage pipes connected to the treatment plant. In order not to harm the plants of the sewage plant and to ensure the proper functioning of the plant, we ask you to use only 100% biodegradable cleaning products and not to throw any chemical products (petrol, thinner, etc.) into the sewage pipes. We thank you for your understanding and for your contribution to the ecological preservation of this wonderful site.

Special attention is given to the protection of the water quality, as the dam lake plays an essential role in the national drinking water supply.
